“Who’s in Your Corner?”

Promotional Advertisement for the Alcohol and Drug Council of Tompkins county (ADC)

In New York State, there is about 1.9 million people (1.77 million adults and 156,000 in the age group of 12-17) struggling with substance abuse. This being one of the several reasons why the team from South Hill Entertainment (Cooper Holmes, Chris Kiely, Maxwell Sobel, and Samuel Plvan) collaborated with Brandmint (an agency located in Rochester, NY) who connected them with the ADC, and Ithaca College Park Students to create an advertisement for the marketing of the Alcohol and Drug Council of Tompkins County by talking to patients and employees about their experience with the services. With this video we look to amplify the value and importance it is to give awareness to such pressing issues, to offer a saving grace, and give hope for those looking for the help they deserve.

We Are a People Driven Team

ADC relies on the input and engagement of the community to address the issues of drug and alcohol abuse in the region. This approach ensures that the council remains in touch with the needs and concerns of the community members and can develop effective strategies and programs to combat substance abuse.

The council achieves this by actively involving various stakeholders, such as local government officials, educators, healthcare professionals, law enforcement, and community organizations. By collaborating with these groups, the council can gather valuable information about the drug and alcohol abuse situation in Tomkins County and develop targeted solutions to address the problem.

One of the key aspects of the Drug and Alcohol Council’s community engagement is the establishment of community forums, where residents can openly discuss their concerns, share their experiences, and suggest possible solutions. These forums provide an opportunity for the council to gain a deeper understanding of the issues at hand and to develop programs and initiatives that are tailored to the specific needs of the community.
