About Beyond the Scoreboard:
An event centered around mental and physical health for athletes.
The first portion will feature a film festival, highlighting the best entries depicting mental and physical challenges in sports. Doors will open at 4:30pm and screenings will begin at 5pm.
After this section, there will be a panel discussion from 7-9pm where panelists will speak about these issues and answer questions from the crowd.

Film Submissions
Interested in submitting your work to the festival?
We are accepting submissions of any genre for films that feature mental and/or physical issues in sports. The submission must be under 20 minutes. There will be 5 awards given out for the top entries ranging from $100-$500. See all the information on the FilmFreeway page linked below.
Featured Panelists
Meadow Maguire – Panelist
Prior to her collegiate career, Meadow recieved numerout accolades such as All-State, First Team All-Group and All-Shore honoree at Rumson Fair-Haven HS. She continued her career playing D1 field hockey at Cornell where she has made a significant contribution to her teams success.
Javi Mejia – Panelist
Javi is currently the Assistant Womens Soccer Coach at Ithaca college. Prior to Ithaca, he worked as the Head Mens Soccer Coach at Emerson College and assistant coach at Syracuse University. He also has a masters certificate in Sports Counceling and Student-Athlete Mental Wellness
Sam Tourangeau – Panelist
Sam has been a member of the Ithaca College Mens Football team for his four collegiate years. During his fourth season as a bomber, he suffered a season ending injury. Sam plans to return to Ithaca college for his fifth year to obtain a Masters in Business Administration.

Our Background
Shae Sabino
Shae graduated from IC in 2024 with a BS in Business Administration with a concentration in Marketing. She was on the basketball team for two years and is excited for this event as she has a passion for advocating for mental health in sports.
Aria Mix
Aria graduated from IC last year with a BS in cinema and photography. She will graduate in May with an MBA in Entertainment & Media. She has been on the Cheerleading Team at Ithaca for 4 years. This project combines her passions of sports and film!
